Launched by Bill Taylor, DDS, MS in 1984, our practice strives to provide the best dental experience for young people in a friendly and caring environment. We are committed to providing the highest quality dental care for infants, children, teens, and those with special needs. Thanks to continuous ongoing education, every staff member is intimately familiar with state-of-the-art dental techniques, equipment and sterilization procedures. Our approach results in the very best dental care delivered in an environment that calms even the most anxious child.
Known as one of the leading pediatric and special needs dentists in the region, F. William Taylor, DDS, MS, draws patients from throughout the Southeast.
Born in Morristown, Tennessee, Dr. Taylor attended the School of Dentistry at Emory University in 1981. After graduation, Dr. Taylor completed two additional years of study in pediatric dentistry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, one of the highest-ranked dental schools in the country. He holds a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Pediatric Dentistry and a Master's degree in science. He also completed a one-year fellowship in dentistry for those with special needs.
1990, Dr. Taylor was certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. This voluntary certification, which includes rigorous examinations and takes between five to eight years to complete, is achieved by only a small percentage of dentists nationwide.
Dr. Taylor is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Christian Medical Society, the Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Academy of Pediatrics. He currently serves as clinical instructor in dentistry at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and is a member of one of the two Cranial Facial Anomalies Teams in Tennessee. He has received several high-profile appointments by elected officials, including a post on the Governor’s Family Involvement Task Force of the Tennessee Children’s Service Commission and the Mayor of Nashville’s Advisory Committee for the handicapped. Dr. Taylor has also participated in dozens of mission trips to third-world countries such as Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Dominican Republic, St. Kitts and Jamaica, where he provides much-needed dental services to the needy.
Dr. Taylor is active in and past president of both the Hendersonville Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club of Hendersonville. He and his family are members of First Baptist Church of Hendersonville. In his spare time, Dr. Taylor enjoys recreational sports and spending time with his wife and three children.
Dr. Margaret Maclin received her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences from Auburn University (GO WAR EAGLES!) and her DMD from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. She always knew that she wanted to work with children and therefore completed a residency in the Advanced Education in Pediatric Dentistry from NYU Lutheran in Providence, RI. During residency, Dr. Maclin developed a very strong interest in working with children with special health care needs. Accordingly, she went on to receive additional training in the area of cleft/craniofacial anomalies and management of patients with special health care needs (SHCN).
Dr. Maclin recently moved to Nashville with her partner Brian, and their Maltipoo, Tucker. They can't wait to explore all that this city has to offer. When not at work, there is a good chance you can find them at yoga, cooking healthy, gluten-free meals, distance running, and traveling to new and exciting places. Though her local community occupies most of her work life, she has been a part of multiple medical, dental, and academic mission trips throughout the U.S, Africa, Caribbean, Central America and Southeast Asia.
Dr. Maclin is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and holds current memberships in the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Southwest Society of Pediatric Dentistry, Tennessee Dental Association, The Special Care Dentistry Association, and the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association.
We have the greatest, most kid-friendly dentists, hygienists and assistants in the area. Our warm, compassionate and encouraging assistants take as much time as necessary to help your child relax for their dental visit.
